Community Conversations: Building Connection Beyond the Business Card

On September 17, AC Creative Collective welcomed Charlotte creatives, entrepreneurs, business owners, and community builders to Sip City Market & Bottle Shop for our first Community Conversations gathering.

The goal was simple: create a room where people could connect beyond a quick introduction, hear honest insight from local experts, and leave with ideas and relationships that could support what they are building next.

Community Conversations was never meant to feel like a stiff networking event or a panel full of surface-level advice. We wanted to create space for real talk about business, visibility, creative work, community, and the many ways we continue learning as we grow. And that’s exactly what we did!

A Room Full of Possibility

From the moment guests arrived, the room was filled with conversation.

People came ready to share what they are working on, the challenges they are navigating, and the goals they are moving toward. Some attendees were business owners looking for fresh marketing support. Others were creatives, nonprofit leaders, or professionals exploring their next step. What connected everyone was a shared interest in building meaningful work and finding community along the way.

We believe strong communities are built when people have room to be honest about where they are, not only where they hope to be. That spirit carried throughout the evening.

Real Talk From Local Experts

The evening featured an industry panel moderated by Amoura Carter, CEO and Co-Founder of AC Creative Collective, with local professionals bringing their own experience and perspective to the conversation:

  • Martingly Nelson — CRM, funnels, automations, and conversion

  • TJ Todd — SEO/GEO and website optimization

  • Jordan Baker — PR and visibility

  • Tony Rushing — Photography and video production

  • Taylor West — Branding

Together, the panel explored the real work behind building a business and showing up consistently. The conversation touched on visibility, content, brand clarity, storytelling, systems, relationship-building, and making intentional decisions instead of chasing every trend.

One of the clearest reminders from the evening was that growth does not happen in isolation. A strong website, thoughtful branding, useful content, meaningful relationships, and reliable systems all work together. There is no one-size-fits-all formula, but there is value in knowing when to ask for support, where to focus your energy, and how to build a foundation that can grow with you.

More Than Networking

Structured networking gave guests a chance to move beyond the usual “What do you do?” conversation.

Attendees were invited to share what they are building, what support they need, and what they can offer others in the room. That shift matters. The best connections are not always transactional. Sometimes they begin with a shared challenge, a thoughtful question, a helpful resource, or an introduction that leads to something bigger later.

We believe community is part of the strategy. When people feel seen, supported, and connected, they are more likely to collaborate, refer one another, share opportunities, and continue showing up for the places they care about.

Thank You to Our Community

We are deeply grateful to every person who attended, participated in the conversation, visited with our vendors and partners, asked thoughtful questions, and brought their full selves into the room.

Thank you to our panelists for sharing your time, honesty, and expertise. Thank you to Sip City Market & Bottle Shop for providing a welcoming setting for the evening. And thank you to the AC Creative Collective team and everyone who helped bring the event to life.
